There’s Something Fresh
Happening in Doylestown!
Plans for a Doylestown-based food cooperative are well underway. For several months, the Doylestown Food Club has provided 50 families with fresh, local food from producers and growers in our area. In order to make this food available to more families, we need a place of our own. We need a building with storage and refrigeration where we can accept deliveries and receive customers.
What we envision is a community-owned and managed food market that supports sustainable agriculture and our local farmers, where you’ll find delicious, locally produced food and have a say in how it’s run.
Red Hill Farm, owned by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia, is located on 183 acres of woodlands and meadows, some of the last undeveloped land of Delaware County. The farm is one of the sisters’ many environmental initiatives. Red Hill Farm is a six-acre farm in its eighth year of production. It provides food for 130 members as well as for the Sisters of St. Francis.
